Overnight boarding questions

Common questions about overnight stays at Field & Fur near Baildon, West Yorkshire.

Where will my dog stay? +

Your dog will stay in our family home, not in kennels. They’ll enjoy a safe, comfortable, and relaxed environment with plenty of attention, affection, playtime, and supervised rest, just like part of the family.

Will my dog mix with other dogs? +

Yes, depending on temperament and suitability. We carefully assess all dogs before boarding to ensure they are friendly and comfortable around others. We always prioritise safety, compatibility, and stress-free socialisation.

Can I meet you before booking? +

Absolutely. We have a compulsory meet-and-greet for new boarders before confirming any stay so you and your dog can visit our home, ask questions, and make sure everyone feels comfortable.

What should I bring for my dog’s stay? +

You will get lots of information from us once your booking is confirmed, but we ask to bring your dog’s food, lead, harness or collar, bedding if preferred, toys, treats, and any medication they may need. Familiar items help your dog feel settled and relaxed.

Do you take puppies or elderly dogs? +

Yes β€” we welcome dogs of different ages, including puppies and senior dogs, provided we can meet their individual care needs. We’ll discuss routines, mobility, medications, and any special requirements beforehand.

Will my dog get walks and exercise? +

Definitely. Dogs receive regular walks, playtime, enrichment, and lots of companionship throughout the day. Exercise routines are tailored to your dog’s age, breed, energy level, and owner preferences.

Can you administer medication? +

Yes. We can administer most oral medications and follow your dog’s normal care routine. Please provide clear instructions during booking.

How do I know my dog is settling in? +

We regularly send photo and video updates so you can see how your dog is getting on during their stay. Many owners love receiving little updates while they’re away.

How far in advance should I book? +

We recommend booking as early as possible, especially during school holidays and summer periods, as spaces can fill up quickly. Early booking helps secure your preferred dates.
